  1. “The best kept secret in Desert Hot Springs”
What a joy to find a spotlessly clean, pleasant, well-run, reasonably priced, authentic mineral water spa, run by a lovely Swiss couple with physical therapy background and training about 2 hours from L.A.!
I went with a friend overnight to spend a couple of the most relaxing and healthy days I have experienced in a long time. Coming from Los Angeles, I am always looking for reasonable priced places to do water therapy, and to get away from chlorinated pools. At the Swiss Health Resort, I found my answer about two hours from the maddening crowd, in Desert Hot Springs.
The Swiss Health Resort is an exceptional find, not only because it is thoughtfully designed, well run and impeccably clean (so sick of the moldy YMCA pool and other places where I have sought water therapy), it is also aesthetically pleasing with it’s lovely koi and turtle pond, as well as surprisingly unpretentious with comfortable quality beds, complimentary terry cloth robes, rooms with fully furnished kitchenettes, and best of all: Ta Da!! THREE MINERAL POOLS with the availability of an excellent licensed physical therapist named Peter, who will work with you (I got an hour massage) in the indoor warm mineral pool by doing a Swiss Water Massage (SWAMA) to help get rid of all the knots and aches. OMG. Nothing short of a birthing experience and a deep release and relaxation for my healing back injury.
I’m ashamed to say that I almost didn’t post this so that the place would remain off the radar, but had to share this great resource in the hope that others will benefit from it as I have. Try Peter. He is worth gold, and the owners are lovely people!
